About the Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre
The Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre Inc. (LGNC) is a non-profit organisation governed by a voluntary Committee of Governance comprising mostly of community members, and managed on a day to day basis by a Centre Coordinator.
The Centre commenced operations in 1984; then known as the Long Gully Community House, which provided a place for the new Sparrowhawk Housing Estate residents to meet, access information and run activities.
The Centre provides services and offers a range of activities to the Long Gully Community as well as the wider City of Greater Bendigo.
The Centre has evolved and now offers a diverse range of programs including recreational and non-accredited Adult Community & Further Educational courses.
Some program areas are run as standalone projects and are managed by LGNC.
These include the Long Gully Community Garden, the Long Gully Multi-Purpose Facility in Cunneen Street and Providence Court in Wells Street. In addition the Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre is responsible for weekly Bread and Food Hamper Deliveries to local residents, Tax Help Support Program for low income residents and support for the Long Gully Community Soccer. We are active participants in the Neighbourhood Watch Newsletter production and distribution.
